Vehicle drifts are affected by the forces and moments of the tire and the suspension. A steering moment equation that calculates the residual aligning torque (RAT) of a tire matched to a vehicle is derived. Using this equation, tire makers can save on development cycle time by delivering matching tires as soon as the suspension configuration is defined.Abstract
